Greetings from the Coaching Director
I hope you are all enjoying the mild winter and are excited about the upcoming season. Last season we were fortunate enough to have the folks from Big League Experience conduct a full-on coaching certification clinic in conjunction with our annual spring camp, and many of you took advantage. Unfortunately we will not be offering a similar program this year, but for those of you who missed out last year or who want to go on to further certification BLE is offering an Okanagan Super Clinic in Penticton March 12-14, 2010. For more information and registration forms go to the Big League Experience website. KMBA will consider requests for reimbursement of coaches clinic registration fees upon request.
We will also soon be adding a form to the website for criminal background checks. You veterans know that the form is very short, and you will be able to print it from the website and bring it to the RCMP, who will return any pertinent info to us. If you know you will be coaching this summer look for the form and beat the rush, as everyone will be required to submit the background check form this season.
Finally plans are in the works to provide all pee wee and younger coaches, house and summer ball, with more detailed and we hope helpful technical tools to encourage uniform teaching points and skill development. More details to follow.
